Hello to all my readers. I have not blogged for a while because I've been busy learning a new creative art. A few months ago I had the chance of a small kiln for slumping and fusing glass. So I have spent a few months learning how to work with glass and have made some outstanding pendants. I have just done my very first craft fair. It was amazing, sales were very good and people loved my work. Its so pleasing when others like what I've done and enjoyed doing.

Like I said, it was a great day but very knackering.

I have'nt given up on my art, its just that I am very passionate about this new direction and the chance of going self employed to do such creative work.

Koko series

I have just started a new series of paintings on the theme of Kokopelli deity, which I'm really enjoying. Kokopelli is a native American fertility deity. Often depicted in history with feathers or antenna like protrusions shooting from his head. Kokopelli is said to preside over childbirth and agriculture, so a deity of new growth is how I see him. He is also known as a trickster and represents the sprit of music.

As and when I finish the art I will post them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I had just came back from a beatifull weekend in Glastonbury when I started the chillout series. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxed I just had to try and put this on canvas.

With Deco 1, I wanted to try and paint what I thought art deco meant to me. This came out as sharp lines and crescents and I'm not sure why but the pale blue seemed right.

Chaos 1, came from my thoughts of how we all are running around in some sort of chaotic order. Like a contradiction in terms. As always, the art starts off as an idea and grows organically into something that I enjoyed doing and hope you enjoy looking at.
